Steve had a very brief word with Mary early this morning. She was leaving for her appointment at 10.00am. Hopefully, by now, something will have been done. She was a very unhappy bunny last night.
Love to all

Hi All

Only managed a very brief chat with Mary earlier.

The DVT has gone - it's been blasted away with a laser so thank goodness for that.

She now has to have nerve conduction tests to see how much the nerves have been affected and also a test to see how well the blood supply is flowing.

Love Jeanxxxxx

I'm sure Mary must be so relieved that the clot has gone away. I hope the tests next week show something positive.

Please give her my love.

Love Lyn

Thanks for the update Jean - am so glad Mary has finally had some treatment. Have they kept her in to check the blood flow and everything or is she home again?

Really excellent news, so pleased to hear they've 'busted' it. They will certainly keep a very close eye on things now but sad it wasn't picked up and dealt with sooner. Hope no long term nerve damage has been done and the blood flow issues will quickly settle down. Poor Mary, with the problems she is already facing she can do without further long term meds for this, but it may unfortunately become a reality.

Please pass on my warm wishes for a speedy recovery.

Lyn x

I'm no doctor, BUT:
what happened to checking this wasn't a DVT BEFORE they decided it was something to do with either the RA or the MS? It used to be the FIRST thing they checked before they even thought of anything even more sinister and/or complicated...and, dare I say it, Doppler scans are NOT expensive.Confused Confused

I have just wandered back off my hols and am totally DEVASTATED to find that what I thought it might be 7 weeks ago actually WAS a dvt and could/should have been diagnosed and dealt with comparatively easily then.

POOR MARY Sad Sad she is such a sweet lady and needs to be MUCH better very soon, please! Hugs Lxx

I agree with you Lylie, my first thought was a DVT.
Mary is very special and deserves better treatment.
